Emily Eschner, HR Manager

Emily Eschner is the HR Manager for the IWC. Emily has a liberal arts background and has worked for non-profits, small businesses, a public university, and a large corporation in the fields of international education, sustainability, and renewable energy. She has also worked as a Spanish tutor and owned a small business. In each of her former roles, Emily's organizational skills, ability to connect with and convene people from diverse backgrounds, and love of systems and processes has allowed her to get things done efficiently, effectively, and compassionately. 

Emily was born in Louisiana but grew up predominantly in southern Maine with the exception of a short stint in Germany as a child. She went to college in the beautiful state of Vermont, and after spending some of her teenage and early twenties wanting to "get out of Maine," after traveling extensively both domestically and internationally, ended up deciding that Maine is a great place to be!  

Emily lives in Portland with her husband Luke, her kindergarten-age daughter Phoebe, and four backyard chickens. In her free time, she loves to read, listen to music, garden, bake, play outside (ask her about her scooter!) and go thrift shopping.
