At Women Lead, we center the strengths and needs of immigrant women building new lives in Greater Portland. We offer pathways to job attainment, entrepreneurship, and education that are grounded in Maine, and we provide the skills, connections, and opportunities to attain their goals. We know that when immigrant women are empowered, Maine’s communities are uplifted.


Launch Your Business: Our New Entrepreneurship Program is Accepting Applications

Dreaming of starting your own business? We’re launching a 6-session course for immigrant women in Greater Portland ready to start or grow their own business. Learn business essentials, connect with mentors, and build a strong network to support your success. Limited spots available—apply now!

Join us for our first cohort—starting October 2nd

Participants will receive: Business coaching, case management, childcare and transport support, and the opportunity to apply for funding and technology upon completion of the program.
Classes include: Creating a Business Plan, Understanding and Managing Finances, Meeting Legal and Regulatory Rules, Marketing and Advertising, Finding Funding Sources, and Business Operation.
We welcome you to apply if: Are an 18+ immigrant woman of any ethnicity, are interested in starting or growing a business, have good English comprehension, live in the Greater Portland area, can commit to all of the 6 (bi-weekly) classes.

Entrepreneurship Pathway: Transform your business idea into a reality. This pathway guides you through business plan development, financial management, legal and regulatory requirements, marketing, and operations.

Pathways to Education: Access education that promotes your professional and social integration. This pathway supports lifelong learning and helps you advance your personal growth.
