At Women Lead, we center the strengths and needs of immigrant women building new lives in Greater Portland. We offer pathways to job attainment, entrepreneurship, and education that are grounded in Maine, and we provide the skills, connections, and opportunities to attain their goals. We know that when immigrant women are empowered, Maine’s communities are uplifted.


Announcing Our New Entrepreneurship Program!

We’re excited to launch Starting a Small Business, a 6-session course designed for immigrant women in Greater Portland who are ready to bring their entrepreneurial dreams to life. Participants will gain essential business skills, connect with mentors, and build a supportive network to guide them toward success.

Kicking off on October 2nd, the program offers business coaching, case management, childcare, transport support, and, upon completion, the opportunity to apply for microgrant funding and digital technology.

WOMEN Lead’s Pathways to Empowerment

Recognizing the unique experiences, contributions, and potential of immigrant women in Greater Portland, Women Lead offers different pillars for economic empowerment:

Job Readiness: Gain employment-focused training to boost your job prospects. This pathway equips you with critical skills, helps you build strong networks, and prepares you to excel in your chosen career.

Entrepreneurship: Transform your business idea into a reality. This pathway guides you through business plan development, financial management, legal and regulatory requirements, marketing, and operations.

Education: Access education that promotes your professional and social integration. This pathway supports lifelong learning and helps you advance your personal growth.
