PURPOSE
Every month, aligning with Creative Portland’s First Friday art walk, the Immigrant Welcome Center showcases a vast array of musical talent among the New Mainer community. These events take place in different locations around Portland, such as Monument Square and the Portland Museum of Art. All are welcome to attend and listen to these talented performers. The concerts are always a joyous occasion! New Mainers on Stage is held on the first Friday of every month. You can view details for each month’s concert (such as the location, time, and performers) on our event calendar and social media. In the past we’ve featured performers such as Bondeko, Planet Pan, Pihcintu Choir, Viva, Assasi, Namory Keita, Seyir Duo, Hadith Bani Adam, Fanfare Kimbanguiste, Maine Marimba Ensemble, Alejandro Graciano, and Fabiola Mendez.
