Thanking Shima, Damas, and Ekhlas.

As the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center enters the new year, we'd like to thank Shima Kabirigi for serving in the very important role of Interim Executive Director, her last day having been December 31, 2020. We are grateful to be able to have Shima stay on the IWC team as a part time consultant in the coming months.

We'd also like to take this time to thank both Damas Rugaba and Ekhlas Ahmed for their work with the IWC. They both ended their positions on December 31 as well. Damas was a dedicated co-founder and leader since the inception of the IWC, first serving as Board Chair, then consultant, and for the past two years Director of Finance and Operations. Damas had a role in almost all IWC related work throughout the years. Ekhlas was with us in a fixed short-term position in our Civic Engagement program. We wish Damas and Ekhlas the best in their next endeavors.
